The Teentalk programs are
an entertaining, yet effective way of learning English. They are
based on authentic, everyday English language spoken by real British
and Canadian teenagers. The advantages of interactive learning make
working with spoken language easy. The student can listen to questions
and answers as many times as desired, and a studio-recorded version
and a text version are also available. The language unfolds piece
by piece and listening, reading and observation skills are all utilized.
The built-in exercises also take advantage of multimedia. Traditional
exercises take on new dimensions - everything can be listened to
or, alternatively, read as text. Grammar rules are easily memorized
by listening to example phrases.
In both programs there is a special area for teachers protected
by a password where the transcripts and answer keys for the exercises
can be found. There is also easy-to-print supplementary material
and ideas for group work and pair work.
Why not take advantage of teenagers’ natural curiosity and
offer them a learning tool that enables them to take a peek at the
life and thoughts of British and Canadian teens?
Teentalk U.K. introduces the learner to 24 British schoolchildren, who are interviewed
on topics like schoolwork, hobbies, sports and music. Following these
interviews is easy and fun, and the whole time the learner is dealing
with authentic, everyday language used by young people in Britain.
The interactive exercises utilize the possibilities offered by multimedia
technology to facilitate language learning.
